APMgeo at first OS Insight Hack Day

26.02.2014

APMgeo were recently invited to take part in the first ever Ordnance Survey OS Insight Hack Day. The event attended by a group of GI developers and solutions providers sought to gain detailed feedback on new products and prototypes which Ordnance Survey are developing (OS Vector Map Local 2.0 Water Layer, OpenData Gazeteer and Building Height Attribution for OS Mastermap Topography layer). Drawing on our existing expertise, particularly in intervisibility / building height and environmental modelling, it was also a chance to see how these products might be used within our exisiting GI solutions and models. “The new products, including the new OS OpenData offerings provide the basis for a rich new set of functionality within GI applications” remarked Andy Murdock (Director, APMgeo).

The day also provided the opportunity to discuss the products in detail with their creators from the various product development teams including relatively new releases, such as OS Terrain 5.
