Coastal Vegetated Shingle Habitat Mapping Report Published

09.09.2014

Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) have recently published a report on the extent and condition of Coastal Vegetated Shingle Habitats in Scotland. The project is the culmination of 3 years of field survey and GIS mapping and was led by Andy Murdock while at the GeoData Institute.

The datasets created within the project offer the most complete and up-to-date picture of these protected habitats so far. SNH will use the data to report on its BAP and Annex 1 Habitat extents but also as a baseline to monitor changes within sites (including climate change impacts) where more detailed habitat classes and species lists are provided.

A pdf copy of the report can be obtained from the SNH website.
